For Peace to Be Possible, First Hamas Must Be Eliminated

Regarding "With shaky cease-fire, Arab leaders look to Gaza’s future" (Boston Globe, March 4, 2025), everyone needs to realize that no plan for Gaza's future will succeed and any investment in rebuilding Gaza will be totally wasted unless Hamas is first eliminated.

The real story is between the lines

To the editor: One has to read between the lines to understand the real meaning of the story "Emergency workers uncover dozens of bodies after Israeli assault." (Hearst Connecticut newspapers, July 13, 2024) Israel continually works to create areas which will be safe for civilians in Gaza, but Hamas and other terror groups just as continually work to infiltrate those areas, particularly favoring schools and hospitals, and use them to launch rockets and other attacks that cannot be ignored. This results in stories about significant numbers of deaths, with the fact that most are almost always terrorists omitted. It's called Hamas' "dead baby strategy." Don't fall for it. Missing words create false impression

Sent to the MetroWest Daily News on October 30, 2024.  Dear Editor: The headline "Israeli strike kills dozens in north Gaza" (October 30, 2024) created a completely false impression by omitting two crucial words; it should have read "Israeli strike kills dozens of terrorists in north Gaza."
